This isn't EcoFlow's first foray into the whole-home battery market. They previously launched the Delta Pro Ultra in early 2024, so the 'X' in the new model's name likely signifies an upgrade.
One significant improvement is the power output. The Delta Pro Ultra X boasts a 60% increase compared to its predecessor. It delivers a continuous output of 12kW, and when using three inverters in parallel, it can scale up to a whopping 36kW. That's enough juice to power demanding appliances like large central air conditioning systems, induction ovens, and even electric vehicle chargers.
But here's where it gets interesting: The battery capacity is impressive, ranging from 12kWh to a massive 180kWh. To put that into perspective, the average U.S. home consumes about 29.2kWh per day. So, a fully loaded Delta Pro Ultra X could potentially power an entire home for around six days. If you're only powering essential devices, you could stretch that to weeks, especially with professional installation of EcoFlow's electrical panel.
The Delta Pro Ultra X works seamlessly with EcoFlow's third-generation Smart Home Panel. This panel, rated at 200 amps, can be installed as either a main panel or a subpanel, allowing you to monitor and control up to 32 circuits. This feature is incredibly useful during a blackout, as it allows you to easily shut off non-essential loads to conserve power. It also supports Time-of-Use functionality, automatically charging and discharging the battery based on real-time pricing and regional forecasts. Plus, it's compatible with third-party gas generators, solar panels, and EV chargers, offering a comprehensive energy solution.
And this is the part most people miss: The Delta Pro Ultra X is designed with modularity in mind. This means you can scale your system over time, easily transport it if you move, or even take an inverter and battery with you to power a vacation home or RV. Flexibility is key!
EcoFlow is also emphasizing ease of installation. They're highlighting their network of 425 certified installer partners across nearly every state. According to a press release, the system can be installed in under seven days from scheduling, with just one day needed for the on-site setup by EcoFlow-certified electricians.
So, what's the cost? A Delta Pro Ultra X bundle, including the inverter unit and two expansion batteries, will set you back $7,999. If you also want the Smart Home Panel 3, which is available separately for $2,999, the bundle price increases to $10,899.
